Nvidia TNT 1.09 driver better for Q3 Test?
I see no great difference in 1600X1200 ...or even 1024 X768...and 32-bit color....over my old 800X600 and 16-bit color, which was the best I could do with my old system. HH2K1 still "hangs up" at times, and the graphics do NOT look "any better" on my new system than on my old system. NHL looks a LITTLE bit better

When I read the post here arguing about Toolbook 32 Bit, I am really laughing because who wants 32 bit now, we want 64 bit. We all might have better served if SumTotal had abandoned Toolbook five years ago and spent the time it otherwise allocated to Toolbook to developing a slick set of templates and

Mastering / Dither question... better to stay at 16 bit?
Thank you, too, Ken: I am also considering having a computer built through somebody local. Would love to do it myself--not that brave. There should be no issue with a "better" power supply for 64-bit. There are better and poorer power supplies, but that applies equally to 32-bit and 64-bit.

Yes - I am running a Iiyama Vision Master Pro 510 monitor at 1600x1200 res for my windows desktop. 3. In games, would you sacrifice a few frames per second for the ultimate in 3D image quality? Yes - Just a few frames per second would not notice, and 32-bit colour in Quake 3 would be much nicer (ugly banding in the

Can I exchange Windows XP64 for 32 bit version
I can write code to do it, but I think there is probably a better way than the approach I have come up with. This works but seems very brute force to me: # assumes 32 bit numbers. class Bignum def to_ls i = self s = "" 4.times { s.concat(i & 0xff); i >>= 8} return s.reverse end end puts 0x61626364.to_ls abcd Also,

I still think everyones time would be better spent on Free Pascal, because they are committed to 64bit, and let Borland go off and do .Net. Eventually we will need both. Once MS releases the 64-bit extended versions of Windows, about a year from now, correct? Or even today with AMD64 in 32 bit windows.

Embedded Programming vs OS development
Seriously: I am quite sure that most of the RISC OS users also use a PC, In my experience, this is indeed the case. But of what relevance is that to the However, this is even more mythical than a 32bit RISC OS machine with XScale or ARM10. Why? Because of "better screen modes with hardware acceleration".

I am sorry I am going windows
The GPU was a pseudo 64 bit processor (more like a 32 bit processor that could branch instructions), the DSP was more 32 bit, and of course there was the 68000. Maybe it did not look very 64 bit gamewise, but the hardware was better designed for 2D games. I have not seen official specs for some of the newer systems

TNT vs Voodoo 2 THE TRUTH
Also, the VCACHE driver is responsible for managing the cache pool for CDFS, and the 32-bit network redirectors. Another big improvement in VCACHE over SMARTDrive is that the memory pool used for The performance of the system also scales better than earlier versions of Windows, due to the intelligent cache use.

(from C++) I am simply trying to write a routine that will display a bitmap file onscreen in mode 13H! If your compiler is a 32-bit one for DOS, you may run into problems of dealing with DPMI stuff -- avoid it at this stage. If your compiler is one for windows, you better use DirectX or OpenGL, since int13h is not

Hello, I am new here.
If you are strictly running 32-bit applications then I would think that you would probably be better running 32-bit Windows. John Robin wrote: Exactly what I wanted to know. My first impressions - Vista 64 bit Ultimate
The XGA is a 32/16 bit busmaster card with automatic bus width detection. From the principle the XGA does not care in what slot it is stuffed. Only exception: the AVE slot(s) to which it won't fit physically anyway. It will however work better in a 32-bit slot If it is used on a 16-bit slot the 32-bit MCA extension

Most of us like WLM much better than WM. In fact, you should also install WLM in WinXP; having it in both operating systems should make the transition easier I knew when I did purchase it , it would mainly be to finally get a 64 bit OS, and I am glad I did.
